Drunk Bay

2023

A meditation on loss, resilience, and the beauty found in transformation.

Drunk Bay is a sculpted piece incorporating metal, aluminum, and wood, woven together in reflection on the dying coral reefs. A stunning fan coral inspired the piece, found washed ashore on St. John’s Island in the Virgin Islands. A fragile remnant of life once thriving beneath the waves.

This work became a deeply personal process, intertwining grief, change, and unexpected beauty. The act of bending and weaving metal mirrored the cathartic process of navigating loss. A physical and mental meditation on impermanence and renewal.
